Undergraduate Program

Within the department, there are two undergraduate programs currently in operation: I. (daytime) Education and II. (nighttime) Education. The standard duration of both programs is eight semesters, with a maximum duration of fourteen semesters.

The Department of Sociology's undergraduate program is exclusively taught in Turkish. Consequently, there are no foreign language preparatory classes, whether compulsory or optional, within the department's curriculum.

In order to be considered for graduation in undergraduate programs, students must fulfill certain obligations. These obligations are met by successfully completing a minimum of 30 ECTS of compulsory/elective courses in each semester of the curriculum (*The total ECTS value of the courses in the 1st semester is 32 in the curric ula with Career Planning course), reaching 240/242 ECTS in the total of eight semesters, no failure, absenteeism, or inadequacy grade, and a cumulative grade point average of 2.00 or above.

Graduates of the undergraduate programs in our department are awarded a diploma denoting their completion of the "Sociology Department Undergraduate Curriculum".

Students who have been admitted to the university for the 2019 academic year and subsequent years will continue their education and training in accordance with the "2019 Bologna ECTS Compatible Sociology Department Curriculum."
